Article 1
Wuqiao, a
county in Hebei Province, is traditionally the“Home
of acrobatics”
in China. For the purpose of flourishing circus art,
promoting artistic exchanges between China and other
countries and enhancing mutual understanding and friendship
between Chinese and foreign artists, China Wuqiao
International Circus Festival will be held once every two
years.
Article 2
CWICF is
jointly sponsored and organized by the Cultural Ministry of
the People’s Republic of China and the People’s Government
of Hebei Province. An Organizing Committee is formed to take
charge of planning and organizing the Festival.
Article 3
The following
items(acts) may enter in the Festival: (1) Clown (2) Aerial
acrobatics (3) Stage acrobatics and variety acts (4) Stunt
performance (5) Performing animal acts (6) Magic acts
Article 4
Foreign troupes
and individuals should cover in principle their
international travel fare including the transportation fee
of the props to and from by themselves. But the Organizing
Committee may consider bearing the international travelling
expenses for the acts chosen and agreed by the Organizing
Committee. The Chinese artists should bear the
travel fare to
and from Shijiazhuang by themselves. The accommodation,
meals and
travelling expenses of all artists during the Festival in
China
will be paid by
the Organizing Committee.
Article 5
During the
Festival, an international circus competition, which is open
to the public,
will be held. The competition will award Gold Lion Prize,
Silver Lion Prize and Bronze Lion Prize. All the
prize-winners above
will get cash
awards.
The Organizing
Committee will award:

Gold Lion Prizes (Premium):
RMB(Chinese
currency) 50,000 Yuans each

Silver Lion Prizes (Premium):
RMB 20,000
Yuans each
l

Bronze Lion Prizes (Premium):
RMB 10,000
Yuans each
The
prize-winners above will receive cash awards in the form of
RMB. The Organizing Committee may help the prize-winners to
change their cash awards RMB into U.S dollars according to
their request.
Special
non-cash prizes will be awarded to those performing acts
deemed as worthy for special aspects …i.e. performance,
difficulty, originality etc.
Some
prize-winners will be arranged to perform in the gala
performance in the closing ceremony.
Article 6
The Organizing
Committee will invite well-known celebrities in the circus
field from all over the world to form a judging panel. The
jury members may make revisions and changes of the
competition regulations before the competition starts. Once
the competition begins, the decision of the jury is final
and can not be changed.
Article 7
The Organizing
Committee reserves the right to determine the entries, to
re-adjust
the program
according to needs. The participants should be subordinated
to the performance arrangement, prepare props and equipment
for their performances and take care of their animals (Food
for the animals will be offered by the Organizing
Committee).
Article 8
During the
competition, the Organizing Committee will be responsible
for going through the formalities of the public liability
insurance and the life safety insurance for the artists in
the course of acting in local Insurance Company.
Article 9
The Organizing
Committee reserves all right to broadcast and videotape the
performances during the artists’ stay in China.
Whilst in China for the festival
artists may not give other profit-making shows without the
arrangement of the Organizing Committee.
