The Jury approves all the Golden Lion Prize, Silver Lion Prize and Bronze Lion Prize by the way of anonymous vote. Programs that gain majority votes will be prized. If the same vote occurred, the chairman will make the final decision. The member of the Jury can submit his own opinion and proposal for the racing regulations before the race begins. | The Origin of Golden Lion Prize |
¡¡¡¡The image of lion on the cup of CWICF is originated from the iron lion of Cangzhou city, Hebei province. The name of the iron lion is ¡°Sea Roarer¡±. It was cast in the 3rd year of Guangshun period of Later Zhou Dynasty (A.D.953) and is more than 40 tons. It is the largest one of the iron lions existing in China. The reason why choosing the iron lion as the image on the cup is that:
¡¡¡¡
--The iron lion is in Cangzhou city and Wuqiao county is very near to Cangzhou. So taking it as the cup image reflects a kind of local atmosphere, and to some extend, it is also a symbol of Hebei province.
¡¡¡¡
--Lion Dance is a traditional program in Chinese acrobatics and is very popular among the common people. Choosing the lion as the image just reflects the main characteristics of CWICF.
¡¡¡¡
--Lion is treated as the protecting god in Buddhism, and people also take it as the symbol of power and luck. Choosing it as the cup image represents the good wishes from the organizers of CWICF
¡¡¡¡
--Lion is always taken as the King of Animals. It can represent the winner and is very memorable.
